When the EcoSport debuted in India, it caused quite a stir in
the compact SUV market. And Ford continued to make regular
updates to the Vitara Brezza rival and the significantly
upgraded Ford EcoSport, which had a lot going for it, especially
among consumers seeking a well-built crossover that was filled
with innovative technology and enjoyable to drive.
Although the Ford EcoSport was neither sporty nor fuelefficient, it did provide the tall sitting posture that many
customers desire at a reasonable price. Its simplicity and high
build quality set it apart in its niche and made it superior to its
rivals. Someone we miss - Ford Ecosport
Six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill start assist,
and TPMS are just a few of the many safety features that the
Ford EcoSport once offered. Other features included leatherette
upholstery, puddle lighting, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and
unusual-looking alloy wheels.
The Ecosport was available with a five-speed manual
transmission or a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 99 horsepower
and 215 Nm of torque. Alternatively, the 1.5-liter, threecylinder "Dragon" petrol engine. Its maximum torque is rated
at 149Nm starting at 4,500 rpm, and it used to produce 121bhp
of power at 6,500 rpm.
