The 2.2-litre diesel engine may not sound like much compared to the bigger engine the Crysta already had, but it delivers 200PS and 440Nm of torque to the front wheels via a superb 8- speed automatic transmission. The engine seems energetic and never feels like you've caught it asleep, despite the gearbox's laid-back reflexes. The 2.2-tonne Carnival responds to a gentle nudge of the throttle like a smaller SUV, and it's fairly speedy along the road. 
 While it's at it, the motor also sounds quite refined. This isn't a squeaky old diesel. The Carnival is very calm, ticking over at just under 2,000rpm at a steady highway cruising speed of 120kmph. Another area where the Carnival impresses is when it comes to brakes, with its low stopping distances. It'll be a terrific tool for a smooth journey as a chauffeur-driven automobile, with predictable reflexes and outstanding modulation.

The competent 4x4 with a go-anywhere attitude could be the ideal vehicle for family outings and even solo travel. With its dependability, a breakdown seems unlikely, and you can rely on this car to get you almost everywhere. After the BS6 price bump, you may purchase the lower-end variants of the range for a budget of 20 lakhs. The D-Max is unlike anything else on the market. It's also not as if the D-max doesn't have anything fresh to offer. For starters, there are now more varieties to select from, including a bare-bones entry-level Hi-Lander, an automated 4x2 version, and a new top-of-the-line Z Prestige 4X4 AT model. The 1.9-litre diesel engine provides more power than before, with 161bhp and 360Nm on tap.
